Hello Kindred spirits ✨️
I've always been curious about nature and herbal medicine, but my interest really took off about a year ago.
Throughout my life, I’ve struggled with my menstrual cycle. I went to the doctor many times asking for support, and I was told that what I was experiencing was normal. I was offered painkillers or the contraceptive pill, and I tried the pill. It worked for a while — I had less pain and felt a bit less depressed. Although, I still experienced depression more regularly, just at a lower level.
After a few years, I got really tired of the side effects from the pill — the bad skin, weight gain, and just feeling generally awful. When I stopped taking it, things got even worse — my periods became much heavier and I was feeling extremely down, even suicidal. I went back to the doctor asking for help again and suggested I might have PMDD because my symptoms were so intense. Unfortunately, I was dismissed and told I had premenstrual tension, which I knew wasn’t quite right.
That’s when I decided to take things into my own hands. I started learning more about my periods and the entire menstrual cycle — not just what happens when I’m bleeding once a month. Everything I discovered surprised me and made me realize how little I’d been taught about my body growing up, just like most women
.
The more I learned, the more I found natural remedies and ways to lessen the symptoms of PMDD. Now, I have specific drinks, foods, and even tinctures and teas that I create myself to help manage things each month. I’m able to cope better and experience less pain.
Now I am living a sober, fulfilled life and I take herbal remedies everyday. I even took it a step further and started to learn about kitchen witchery and how to transform recipes with intentions and energy.
I’ll be sharing tips and advice on things you can do at different stages of your cycle to support yourself and make life easier during those times.
Blessings and love ☀️
